Holly, a massage therapist in practice for twenty years, is our wellness expert at Brandywine Massage & Wellness, which she also happens to own. It is also the home of our little Soapery in Chadds Ford, PA.
We have asked Holly for regular tips and to post for our blog readers and Facebook group, and here is what she had to say:
I have many tips that I give to clients, and the tips are different, depending on the needs of the individual and in keeping with their particular lifestyle. In essence, tips are tailored to the individual.
I can share some examples of wellness tips I have given over the years to clients in a variety of circumstances. Here are a few:
- Take an Epsom salt bath a few times a week if you have a tub and the ability to get in and out of it safely. Magnesium in the salts are great for those who work out regularly and experience sore muscles.
- Get out for a walk for at least 15 minutes every day, if you can.
- The number one tip I give, though, is to get more greens in your diet. Spinach, broccoli, kale and romaine lettuce are all examples.
- Slowly wean off of acidic foods like coffee and also try to eliminate processed sugars.
All of these help with stress factors that so many of us experience, help to decrease inflammation, assist with winding down and with overall well being.
That's our Tip for this week. Give these a try and let us know how you do.
